Kara is a first-year master’s student in Applied Developmental Psychology at GMU working in Dr. Curby's Lab. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Christopher Newport University. Her undergraduate research focused on memory enhancement and recall through word type and misspellings as well as animal behavior and learning. Prior to joining the program, she worked as a Pre-K teacher in Denver, Colorado for several years. She is interested in social-emotional developmental in early childhood, parent practices, and school readiness.
Kara works with Dr. Tim Curby's lab to investigate how how teacher-child interactions serve as a mechanism for pre-school aged children social-emotional development.
