Van Pham (she/her) is a second-year M.A. student in the Applied Developmental Psychology program under the mentorship of Dr. Olga Kornienko. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology with a minor in Education at Virginia Commonwealth University in Fall 2023. Van currently works as a Behavior Support Technician, providing trauma-informed care to children with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. She also has experience supporting early childhood classrooms as a Teacher Assistant and managing summer youth programs in affordable housing communities. These experiences have been a driving force for her to continue her education in developmental psychology. Van is passionate about understanding how familial and societal networks influence diverse adolescents’ mental health, specifically the impacts of intergenerational trauma and resilience on children of immigrants. She wishes to promote mental health awareness in minoritized communities.
